Who we are and what this covers
Rooted Growth Advisory ("we," "us") provides bookkeeping, financial advisory, and fractional CFO services to small businesses. We take the confidentiality of your financial information seriously. We never sell it.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (rootedgrowthadvisory.com), our services, and any software tools or integrations we use to deliver them, including our connection to QuickBooks Online.
Information we collect
Contact and business details: name, email, phone, business name, address, and billing information you share when you inquire about or sign up for our services.
Financial records: transactions, bank and credit card statements, invoices, payroll reports, receipts, and other records you provide or authorize us to access to deliver our services.
Accounting software data: when you authorize it, we access your QuickBooks Online company file through Intuit's secure connection. This can include your chart of accounts, transactions, customers, vendors, and reports.
Website information: basic usage data such as pages visited, browser type, and form submissions, collected through standard website tools and cookies.
We collect only the information we need to do the work you've hired us for.
How we use your information
To deliver bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial reporting, and advisory services
To communicate with you about your account, deadlines, and our work together
To send invoices and process payments
To meet legal, tax, and professional recordkeeping obligations
To improve our website and services
How we share it
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We share it only:
With trusted service providers who help us run the business, such as accounting, payroll, document-sharing, scheduling, and payment platforms. They may use your information only to provide those services.
With professionals you direct us to, such as your CPA, tax preparer, or attorney.
When required by law, such as in response to a subpoena or a request from a government agency.
Our team members and contractors who work on your account are bound by confidentiality obligations.
QuickBooks Online and Intuit data
Our connection to QuickBooks Online uses Intuit's secure OAuth authorization. We never see or store your Intuit password. We use data accessed through this connection only to provide services to you. We do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties except as described above.
You can disconnect access at any time from your QuickBooks Online account settings or by contacting us.
How we protect it
We use safeguards consistent with financial-services standards, including encrypted connections, secure client portals for file sharing, multi-factor authentication on our systems, and access limited to the people who need it. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep client financial records for as long as we work together, plus up to seven years afterward. This aligns with IRS and professional recordkeeping guidance. After that, we securely delete or destroy them unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop marketing emails, at any time. Some records may need to be kept to meet legal obligations. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar tools to understand how visitors use the site. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work without them.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
